Designed by world-renowned Rees Jones, who is credited with four of the last five renovations to U.S. Open courses, this masterful blend of natural terrain and creative architecture makes his course at Sea Trail a must-play on your next Myrtle Beach golf vacation. Golf Digest rated this course 4 stars in its “Places to Play” guide, and named it among the “Top 20 Courses in North Carolina” in 2008.
The Jones Course was the host of a 2006 U.S. Open qualifier and recently underwent renovations to bring a more natural look with native grasses and wildflower plantings. The signature hole No. 5 – par 3, 178 yards – looks more daunting than it actually is with a shot that needs to carry over water to land on the green. “You see so much more water because you are looking down the hill,” says Sea Trail Head Pro Eddie Pratt. “It’s not difficult but it is intimidating. Just make sure you have enough club.”
