Blackmoor Golf Club, located in Murrells Inlet just minutes south of Myrtle Beach, is a one-of-a-kind golf experience that appeals to all levels and types of player.

Situated on the site of historic Longwood Plantation, parallel to the Waccamaw River, Blackmoor is the only course in the Myrtle Beach area designed by South African golf legend Gary Player. Player has designed hundreds of courses across the globe and applied the best of his abilities to Blackmoor, the result being a vibrant layout that is as well-regarded by those who travel hundreds of miles to play it as those who live on and near the course.

Blackmoor has a number of spectacular holes, but the unquestioned best of the bunch is the 8th hole, which offers an exciting risk-reward proposition. The conservative and/or shorter-hitting player is welcome to hit a tee shot out to the left and turn back to the right with a short or mid-iron approach. Alternatively, Player cut an alleyway through the forest on a direct line from the tee to the green, leaving the tiger golfer to consider hitting a 260-280 yard tee shot that heads straight for the pin with the potential to yield an eagle or short birdie putt. But a wayward swing on that line could spell woodland disaster.
