Arrowhead Country Club, a 27-hole collaboration between Carolinas golf legend Raymond Floyd and architect Tom Jackson, winds through lagoons and tall Coastal pines along the Intracoastal Waterway just west of Myrtle Beach.

The Waterway, Cypress and Lakes nines each have a distinctive flair, but are similar in challenge and difficulty. Though no 18-hole combination plays more than 6,670 yards from the back tees, the course ratings are 71.6 on two combinations and 71.4 on the other. The slope ratings are a heady 139, 140 and 141. Most fairways are framed on at least one side by water with a handful of holes requiring an approach over water to undulating MiniVerde Bermuda putting surfaces.

Floyd played 18 holes in the official grand opening in 1994 just a few days before winning the inaugural PGA Senior Tour Championship in Myrtle Beach. Jackson, whose designs include the spectacular mountainside Cliffs at Glassy and former LPGA Tour site Mount Vintage Plantation as well as a handful of other Grand Strand golf courses, crafted a layout demanding solid ball striking and course management skills.
